Baby Feeding Must Haves

Ask anyone around me, and they’ll tell you, I live and breathe food! It is the fiber of my existence! I wake up thinking about food and go to bed thinking about it. I’ve done so since I was a little girl. I remember every night before bed asking my mother what we were going to eat the next day LOL! I LOVE FOOD! So it’s no surprise that I make such a big deal about meal time with my babies. These are my baby feeding must haves!

These are a few of my favorite things!

Over the past ten years, I’ve tried many different feeding products. I started with Baby-Led Weaning, so I was always on the hunt for things to make mealtime less messy. My firstborn would smash food into her hair at every mealtime. I had to wash her hair every single time until I started putting a bandana on her head to eat. Food would get crammed in every inch of the highchair. It was so hard to clean but so worth her enjoyment.

I always used bibs with sleeves. Compared to your run of the mil bibs, they kept my babies very clean. But this year, my friend recommended these new 2.0 models. They are amazing! Not only do they keep your baby completely clean, but also the inside of the high chair. It was a game-changer to be able to clean up that fast after a meal! They are extra long, with an elastic at the bottom that secures to the high chair tray, and makes kind of a hammock to catch all the food.

This next one is also a new find with baby number 4. I’ve always purchased bowls and plates with suction cups underneath. Hoping that they would withstand those tiny hands, just to have my baby instantly pull them off and throw the food all over the floor. The EZPZ line is incredible. The entire base is a silicone suction cup which makes it so stable, that even an adult can barely move it. They have such an assortment of colors and mats.

The different compartments push you as a parent to fill your child’s plate with as many different and colorful foods as possible. I love the Mini Feeding Set that comes with a fork and spoon. As well as the First Foods Set. The Mini Cup+ Straw Training System is awesome! The base is weighted, which makes toppling over hard and the size is perfect for tiny hands. EZPZ is definitely my number one recommendation!

These little silicone spoons come in a set of 4. The nondirectional spoons are great for new eaters to scoop food up easily. They can eventually graduate to the regular ones.

During the holidays, we took a road trip down to Florida to visit my mother. Let me tell you, keeping an 8-month-old entertained for 24 hours isn’t easy! This little snack cup kept her busy for hours during that trip. I love that the soft silicone is so gentle on her tiny hands. I don’t have to worry about her getting irritated from putting them in and out getting snacks. The little puffs also stayed in when she’d throw the cup around. No mess = happy mommy!

I’ve always disliked portable high chairs. The tray would always slide off when I would carry it, or I would lose it. My husband actually found this Style N’ Go one! I love it because it’s all one piece and you can fold it up quite flat compared to a regular portable high chair. No more fidgeting with the tray. Cleanup is so easy because it’s all made of plastic.

As for our high chair at home, we have used the same model for three of our children. With baby #3 we used a Peg Perego, and honestly, I hated it! Since we do Baby-Led Weaning, I need my 6-month-old to be able to reach into the tray. The angle was so off, that he could barely get his little hands up there. So for baby #4, we came back to our tried and true; Graco DuoDinner. I love that I can easily remove the cover and wash it. And I also enjoy the large tray which makes it harder for babies to throw food overboard.

As for water bottles we’ve been using Munchkin ones. I love the Trainer Cup to teach babies how to drink water from a regular glass without the mess. And these Bite Proof Sippy Cups are great as well. My 1-year-old chews the life out of it and it hasn’t ripped yet. She is constantly going around the house asking for water LOL!

There you have it! A round-up of my baby feeding must haves. Take it from this seasoned Baby-Led Weaning mom, you absolutely need all of these in your life!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you found this useful.
