Spring Dresses from Amazon

Those days of going clothes shopping for hours on end, are but a distant dream to me. Once upon a time, I loved shopping. But with every addition child I had, the more I disliked it. Now with 4 kids, it’s merely impossible to pick out, nor try anything on. I leave the store with my head spinning! So, I’ve resorted to online shopping. Sure it’s a little more of a pain having to return what doesn’t fit. However, picking clothes out after all the kids go to bed, is heaven. Last week I ordered a few spring dresses from Amazon.

I’d become very skeptical about ordering clothes online that weren’t from big-box chains. 10 years ago, I’d ordered a dress from China for my godson’s baptism. Instead of paying over 300$ locally, I thought 100$ on a similar dress was a steal! The pictures looked great, and I was so excited. It took over a month to receive it, and we were nearing the baptism quickly. Now, my sister-in-law can attest to this, the atrocity that I received! The color was off and it was 6 sizes too big. It looked nothing like the picture!

I undoubtedly went into a panic trying to find another dress. I ended up finding something I didn’t totally love from BCGB. And at the end of the day, spending way more than the 300$. After that, I refused to buy anything that I couldn’t try on. That is, until I had a few kids lol! At this point, we’re almost 10 years later, so I thought I would give it another chance. And luckily, this time was different.

I needed a dress for my Mother’s Day brunch. Most of my clothes is still packed up in boxes from our recent move, and I had no intention of digging out a dress. I was also so busy trying to get the blog up and running, that I had no time to go store to store to find something with my 4 monkeys in tow. That’s when I thought of ordering some spring dresses from Amazon.

The beauty of Amazon, is you don’t have to wait weeks for your order. In most cases, you can get it the next day! Make sure you check the delivery window. Secondly, returns are no fuss. Without further ado, this is what I ordered for brunch…

Mint Faux Wrap Dress

I was sure this was a floral dress when I ordered it LOL. But after carefully looking at the picture after I received it, it’s more of a mini leopard print. Unlike the black dress, this one is a faux wrap. The front simply crosses and has a removable sash. It came in many different colors: mint, black, blue, coffee, pink, and red. I found the mint to be perfect for spring. I really liked the ruffled shoulders. It gave it such a feminine look. The fabric was light like a chiffon. And more sheer on the shoulders, and beyond the knee. The smallest size they had was a small. I am a little smaller than I usual right now, so ideally an extra small would have been ideal. I am 5’8″ and it hit me mid calf.

Black and White Wrap Dress

This dress is a full wrap, the sash is attached and you cannot remove it. The fabric was a little heavier than the mint dress. More of a cotton than chiffon. Because it is a true wrap dress, there is a slit on the side. It overlaps on the other side, but it is there nonetheless and adds a cute flirty touch. This was also a small, but I could get it more fitted due to the wrap nature of the dress.

Button Down Floral Dress

This last dress, unlike the other 2, is more revealing. With it’s spaghetti straps, a front tie and cut out, you can’t wear a bra like the others. At 5’8″ this dress hit me right above the knee. Although I really liked the other dresses, this is the one I felt most confident in. It was just more me! I initially wanted to order this dress in the navy/white, but it wouldn’t come within the 2 day delivery window I needed it to. The lavender with coral flowers turned out to be so pretty.

Flirty touches.

As for the accessories, every girl need a pair of blush heels. I tent to gravitate to darker shoes, but they just wouldn’t do for these spring looks. In the same fashion, this little neutral crossbody purse goes with anything. The neutral color makes it a Passepartout.

At the end of the day, I was pleased with my selection of spring dresses from Amazon. There were a few others that I found super cute, but didn’t fit my time frame. I will definitely be ordering a few more for the summer!
