The excitement I felt on Easter as a child was unmeasurable. For the most part, I couldn’t wait to run downstairs in the morning to find the new dress my grandmother had bought me. Ah! And the thrill of searching for the treats that the Easter Bunny had hidden for us! Did my mother know she was creating a magical Easter that would last a lifetime?

Maybe, maybe not. But she always made every holiday special for us. As I try to do now for my children. I want them to feel the joy I felt. Furthermore, with new traditions added from my husband’s side of the family, it’s an even more joyous holiday.

This year, having only moved into our new home barely over a month, I knew Easter might be a little different. But nonetheless, I dug out the Easter box this week and pulled out the decorations.

My Easter kitchen corner!

I hadn’t put up much decor yet. But, as soon as I started putting little bunnies around the house it made it feel more like our home. It’s just what we needed to create a magical Easter. Just seeing there little eyes light up made my day.

A little Easter magic for our dinning room.
Hands down, my favorite room in our home.

We colored our Easter eggs and decided to add a little speckled touch this year. And of course, we needed to bake a sweet treat. I’ve been on a cakesicle kick lately and make them for all occasions. For one thing, they are so much easier to make than cakepops! You can easily customize them to any theme. I used these molds and purchased white chocolate wafers. Getting a big bag of white to use as a base, and smaller colored ones depending on the holidays. As a result, you have enough to make a few times. I prefer these to Wilton melts, which I personally find really sweet.

Just creating a magical Easter!

Aren’t they so cute?! There were sprinkles EVERYWHERE! But so worth it. I love how the eggs turned out as well. More importantly, they look like little giant Cadbury mini eggs. And let’s talk about the adorable faux fillable chocolate bunnies I found at Dollorama. Evidently, I had to use them in my Easter table setting along with the dyes eggs. You can check out that post here.

Easter wonder!

Having my eldest and youngest 10 years apart means I get to watch the wonder in my babies eyes for years to come. Everything I do is to make them smile.

My daughter and I love to color little doodles, for this reason, I create an Easter coloring page. Something we could do together. Just another way of creating a magical Easter. You can download the PDF below and print it out of paper or cardstock. We just love glitter gel pens in our home. Also, they make a great Easter basket stuffer.
